Kim Terek

Coach Kim Terek was an early childhood synchronized swimmer for the New Berlin Synquettes (one of many Wisconsin state clubs no longer in existence) in New Berlin, WI, during the years approximately 1987 to 1991. She swam solo's, trio's, and team performances, where her 8-10, 11-12, and 13-14 aged teams gained state, regional, and national Junior Olympic invitational levels. Her 13-14 team won 13th place in the National Junior Olympics in 1992. She was named by her local club as the “hardest worker” achievement during their national JO year.

Kim went on into High School sports to utilize the sound athletic fundamentals our sport teaches to obtain numerous Presidents’ award athletic awards and a high school sponsored athletic scholarship while studying at her private Milwaukee area High School, Pius XI High School in Milwaukee, WI. She received Varsity letters multiple years in 3 sports (each season, Tennis 3 yrs, Basketball 1 yr, Downhill skiing 1 yr, and Track 2 yrs) in three of her four years of student scholars. Two of Kim’s 3 main sports teams’ won their State Level WI sports competitions during her Varsity years (3rd place Girls’ Tennis Doubles team, trophies in ski team giant slolem competitions, and 13th Place shot put and discus in Track competitions in 1991-1994).

As an adult and Alumni of the University of Wisconsin (BBA, 1999). Kim continued the rich spirit and traditions our sport affords us by swimming synchronized styled laps of the sports’ skills we teach now, for the last 30 years in her private athletic lifestyle.

Kim has now performed in the 2022 fall Adults US Nationals amateur level FINA Artistic Swimming competition which occurred in Maine last October, 2022. Her solo was 3rd place in the 40’s-50’s age group. She hopes to continue swimming the adult amateur league for many healthy years to come. She is happy and graciously honored to have the opportunity to assistant coach now with the Mad City Aqua Stars.
